Beijing Olympic TowerNightscape Lighting Upgrade Project

The Olympic Tower is located in the northeast of the central area of the Beijing Olympic Park, adjacent to the Central Axis Landscape Avenue on its west side. It is the world’s only sightseeing tower complex consisting of five independent towers, with a maximum height of 246 meters. As the tallest tower in northern Beijing, it serves as a highly prominent regional landmark.

The 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation“Spatial Light and Shadow Show”

The 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing from April 25 to 27, 2019. The night sky of the capital was illuminated by tens of thousands of colorful lights. As the core performance carrier of the “Spatial Light and Shadow Show”, the Olympic Tower presented four chapters themed “Glowing Beijing” for the grand event.

The tower body opened with a powerful and ceremonial atmosphere, accompanied by drum music and fou percussion, full of enthusiasm and vitality.

Golden and yellow silk ribbons danced, expressing the vision of integration, cohesion and cooperation.

Traditional cultural elements unfolded in abundance.Against classical and graceful melodies, audiences appreciated the auspicious culture of China.

A modern chapter full of technological sense and dynamic rhythm.

As the core highlight of the “Spatial Light and Shadow Show”, the nightscape lighting upgrade of the Olympic Tower was completed by Beijing Liangye Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. together with Beijing Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd. The project was implemented in three phases. Joinmax Technology provided luminaires and control systems for Phase II of the project.

Joinmax Technology was responsible for the design, supply of lighting fixtures and control system products, as well as the commissioning of the lighting project. A total of 140,000 sets of point light sources and supporting intelligent lighting control systems were adopted in the project. The company applied its independent core technologies, including multimedia lighting control, fault self-feedback system, and 16-bit gamma correction technology for luminaires.
